About the blog and disclaimer

Goal of this Blog
There is a mountain of information about weight loss that is easily accessible to anyone who can connect to the internet. Not to mention the slew of books available on the subject. The problem, we think, is that a lot of this information is completely or partially incorrect. This can often result in wasted time, effort, and money by those that follow such information. We hope to combat this problem by presenting weight-loss strategies that are evidence-based (was the goal our our book as well). This means we will make sure that there is some level of quality evidence to support a weight loss recommendation. Additionally, we will be pointing out weight loss recommendations that have no or poor evidence. Finally, we will consider if the recommendation will actually have any real-world affect on a person’s weight. This means that even though the evidence, even high-quality evidence, supports the efficacy of a recommendation, does it produce a result in the real-world that would justify the time, effort, and money that would be put forth.
